It’s March Meet the Maker time once again and I’ve been binging content from fellow small indie businesses and makers across Scotland and the wider UK over these last couple of weeks and I have been feeling inspired to share more behind the scenes of Taffy Tots Clothing as a result.
Today I wanted to share some answers to my most frequently asked questions about my business as an independent children’s clothing designer and maker.

What do you love most about running your small business?
While it may sound like a cliché, I just love seeing my work in the hands of my customers and most importantly styled on their children. It always gives me so much joy to see children adventuring around, playing and enjoying their childhood in clothing that not only looks amazing but fits them so well, so know that if you’ve ever bought a piece of clothing from me and tagged me in your pics that I appreciate every mention and tag and they make me smile to no end.

How did you find your unique style?
With roots and my home base here in Scotland I fell into my style naturally. I always knew I wanted to base my collections around Scotland and create clothing that gave a subtle nod to our heritage here in the North East while also creating fun and colourful prints children would love to wear too.

What inspires you to create and keep growing Taffy Tots Clothing?
Whenever I’m struggling to feel inspired I look to my family and friends, they’re an endless source of ideas and inspiration and know just what to say and do to keep me going and kick start my creativity again. Some of the best ideas I’ve had for prints, designs and clothing have come from having a chat with my family and friends over a coffee.
